Deputy Jake Toriseva was hired by the Gallia County Sheriff’s Office in August of 2019 after completing his Ohio Peace Office Basic Training Academy at the Buckeye Hills Career Center in 2019. In June of 2022, Dep. Toriseva was teamed with K9 Torm, who was obtained from Sculpadog Kennels in Estonia in Northern Europe. Dep. Toriseva and K9 Torm completed their training as a dual-purpose canine team through the Gallia County Sheriff’s Office Canine Training Academy in August 2022 and have certified through the State of Ohio for the purposes of patrol and narcotics work. K9 Torm is a Belgian Malinois, which is a European herding dog, which are high energy dogs which are perfect for police work.
